Let us tell you that this timeless song was written by the poet Pradeep, which is full of patriotism. It was first sung by Lata Mangeshkar. When Lata was recording it, the atmosphere became so emotional that most of the people got teary-eyed.

Kavi Pradeep had told in an interview how this song was made. This is from 1962 when India was badly defeated in the Indo-China war. The whole country was gloomy, gloomy and everyone's morale was broken. Then this song was born.

The government was also looking at the poets and lyricists of the country that such a composition should be composed that would work as an ointment on the wound of the country.

Kavi Pradeep had written many patriotic songs in that era. He was considered to be the poet of Oz. He was asked to write a song. Mohammad Rafi, Mukesh, and Lata Mangeshkar were at their peak during that period. No one was even around him in singing.

Why did Lata Ji sing this song?

At that time all patriotic songs were sung by Rafi sahib and Mukesh only, so thinking of how best to sing Veer Ras in Lata's melodious and very sensitive voice, Kavi Pradeep decided to write an emotional song.

Thus the song 'Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon' was born. First, it was sung by Lata Ji in front of Nehru at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Tears welled up from Nehru's eyes. Where poet Pradeep immortalized it with his words, Lata Ji made it great with his voice. Today Lata Ji is not remembered without this song. Poet Pradeep was also very emotional about this, he deposited the revenue of this song in the War Widow Fund.

Who is Pradeep Kavi, how did he become a lyricist?

The original name of the poet Pradeep was 'Ramchandra Narayanji Dwivedi'. He was born in Badnagar in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Kavi Pradeep was identified with the film Bandhan released in 1940. However, through the song "Dur Hato ae Duniya wale Hindustan Hamara hai" from the 1943 golden jubilee hit film Kismat, he became such a great lyricist, whose patriotic songs were swayed by people. The then British government got angry with him on this song. Orders were given for his arrest.

Kavi Pradeep was a teacher. He also used to write poems. Once he went to Mumbai and took part in a poet's conference. There his poems were heard by the owner of Bombay Talkies, Himanshu Rai, and liked them very much. He was immediately hired to write songs for Rs 200 per month.
