Republic Day
Republic Day is celebrated as a sign of India being a sovereign republican and democratic country. It is a rememberable day in the history of India. India had been under foreign rule for 200 years. It got independence on the 15th August 1947. A constitution was made for our country. The Indian Constitution came into force on the 26th of January 1950. Since then, this day is celebrated every year as Republic Day. it is a day of joy for the people of our country. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm.
The special attraction of the Republic Day celebration is the Republic Day parade. In this parade, The honorable President of India takes the Salute by Jawans. Distinguished soldiers of the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force take part. Our military power is celebrated through a display of the sophisticated and powerful weapons of War in our possession. Traditionally, every year atop Statesman from a foreign country is invited to the chief guest on the occasion.
All the states of the country registered their presence in this grant show sending there their tableaux individually. These move on wheels along the broad highways of the capital, To the accompaniment of music and dance. School children also take part in this Republic Day Parade.
On this sacred occasion of Republic Day, bravery awards for children are announced. The government also declared the ‘Padmashree’ award to distinguished citizens and the ‘Veer Chakra’ award to valiant soldiers. The highest civilian award is ‘Bharat Ratna’. It is given for the most significant contribution to the nation.
So, republic day has great national importance. It is celebrated all over India. It is also celebrated at schools. It reminds us that we must work hard to better the condition of our country. The constitution provides equal rights to all the citizens of our country. So we must try honestly to improve the conditions of people who are rolling in poverty.
