On the occasion of the country's 73rd Republic Day, the main program was organized at Rajpath here on Wednesday, where security, discipline, glimpses of different cultures, and indomitable military valor were seen. This time many changes were seen during the main parade to be held on the occasion of Republic Day.

The main program to be held on the occasion of Republic Day for the first time started half an hour later at 10.30 am. Till now this program used to start at 10 am. Along with this, no foreign guest attended the program as a special guest for the second consecutive year due to the global pandemic Coronavirus. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) launched the program 'Salute to the Martyrs'. A grand flypast by 75 aircraft/helicopters of Indian Air Force, presentation of the cultural program by 480 dancers selected through nationwide Vande Bharatam dance competition, 10 scrolls (each of length 75 meters) prepared during 'Kala Kumbh' event Changes like the installation of 10 large LED screens were seen for better performance and convenience of the spectators.

Given the Corona protocol, this time only six thousand people were allowed in the parade. Last year this number was 25 thousand. This year only those people were allowed to watch the parade at Rajpath, who had taken both doses of the corona vaccine.

Children under the age of 15 were not allowed in the program. All the rules of social distance were followed and all needed to wear masks. This time in the main program organized on Rajpath, special arrangements were made to give opportunities to those sections of the society, which usually do not get a chance. For example, certain sections of auto-rickshaw drivers, construction workers, sanitation workers, and frontline health workers were invited as special spectators to the Republic Day parade.
