Born: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in the village of Cuttack, Odisha to Janaki Nath Bose and Smt. Prabhavati Devi.


Family: In the year 1934, Subhash Chandra Bose had gone to Austria for his treatment. There he met an Austrian woman named Emilie Schenkel. The two fell in love. In 1942, Subhash Chandra Bose and Emily Schenkel got married according to Hindu customs. In the same year, Emily Schenkel gave birth to a daughter. Whose name was named Anita Bose?


Education: He started his college education in 1913 and joined Presidency College, Calcutta. In 1915, he passed the Intermediate examination in the first division. He was suspended in 1916 for misbehaving with a British professor. In 1917 he took admission in Philosophy Honors at the Scottish Church College. In 1919 he left for England to take the ICS examination, earning first place in Philosophy Honors. In 1920, Subhash Chandra Bose not only cleared the ICS exam with the highest marks in English but also secured the fourth position. In 1920 he received a prestigious degree from Cambridge University.


Political and Life of the Freedom Movement: Due to his political and patriotic views, he was arrested by the British in 1921. On August 1, 1922, he came out of jail and joined the Swaraj Dal at the Gaya Congress session under the leadership of Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das. In 1923, he was elected the President of the Indian Youth Congress. Along with this, the secretary of Bengal Congress was also elected. He started editing Deshbandhu's established magazine Forward.

In 1924, Swaraj Dal got huge success in the Kolkata Municipal Election. When Deshbandhu became the mayor and Subhash Chandra was named the chief executive officer. The British government could not tolerate the growing influence of Subhash and in October the British government once again arrested him. Deshbandhu died in 1925. In 1927, Netaji, along with Jawaharlal Nehru, was elected General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee.


A new path apart from the Congress: In 1928, he formed a voluntary organization during the Calcutta session of the Indian Congress to give the edge to the freedom movement. Netaji was elected the General Officer-in-Command of this organization. He was sent to jail in 1930. It was during his stay in jail that he won the election of the Mayor of Calcutta. Bhagat Singh was hanged on March 23, 1931, which led to differences between Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Mahatma Gandhi.


Support outside the country: From 1932 to 1936, Netaji met Mussolini in Italy, Felder in Germany, Valera in Ireland, and Roma Ronand in France to pressurize foreign leaders for India's independence. When Subhash Chandra Bose arrived in India on April 13, 1936, he was arrested in Bombay.

After his release from 1936 to 37, he began publishing 'Indian Struggle' in Europe. In 1938, the Congress President was elected in the Haripur session. Meantime, Rabindranath Tagore honored him at Shantiniketan.


Establishment of the Forward Block: In 1939, after defeating Sitaramayya, the candidate of Mahatma Gandhi, once again became the President of the Congress. Later he established the forward block. He was placed under house arrest in 1940.


Left the country: In the meantime, his health was adversely affected due to fasting. In a dramatic incident in 1941, he disappeared on 7 January 1941 and reached Germany via Afghanistan and Russia. On 9 April 1941, he submitted a memorandum to the German government which referred to the cooperation between the Axis Powers and India. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose founded the Swatantra Bharat Kendra and Swatantra Bharat Radio in November of this year.



Establishment of Azad Hind Fauj: He reached Japan with the help of the Navy and after reaching there he addressed the people of India through Tokyo Radio. On October 21, 1943, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose established the Azad Hind Government and it was established in Andaman and Nicobar, where it was named 'Shaheed and Swaraj'. In 1944, the Azad Hind Fauj reached Arakan and a battle broke out near Imphal. The army captured Kohima (Imphal).



Netaji's death: In 1945, Japan laid down its arms after a nuclear attack in World War II. A few days later, on 18 August 1945, the news of Netaji's death in an air crash came. Netaji Subhashchand Bose was badly injured in a plane crash in Taihoku, Taiwan, later he died in a military hospital... although the mystery of his death remains to this day.



Gumnami Baba: Many people believed that Netaji was living in the name of Gumnami Baba in UP till 1985. Anuj Dhar, who wrote the book 'Kundrum: Subhash Bose Life After Death' on Netaji's life, claimed that Gumnami Baba, who lived for many years in Faizabad, UP, was Subhash Chandra Bose. According to him, apart from the then government, Netaji's family also knew what his connection was with Gumnami Baba, but they never wanted to reveal it. Only 13 people were present at the time of his death. Gumnami Baba breathed his last in Ram Bhawan built-in Civil Lines of Faizabad city.
