Navy Day is celebrated every year on 4th December. The reason for celebrating this day is the victory of the Indian Navy and the martyrs who were martyred in the Indo-Pak war. Remembering his sacrifice, tribute is paid every year on Navy Day. The war between India and Pakistan in 1971 was short. This war, which lasted for about 13 days, was recorded in history. On 4 December 1971, under Operation Trident, the Indian Navy attacked the Karachi naval base in Pakistan. After which the oil present there also caught fire. It took about 7 days to extinguish it. Its flames were so strong that it was visible even from 60 km away.



What was the reason for the naval war between India and Pakistan? This war was started by Pakistan. Pakistan airstrikes on 19 stations of the Indian Air Force. In the war between India and Pakistan, India was being fought from both sides of East Pakistan (Bangladesh) and West Pakistan, during which on December 4, the Karachi naval base was attacked under Operation Trident. And the Indian Navy got a big victory. During this time many Bangladeshi refugees were taking refuge in India. It was not possible to stop them either. In such a situation, this war lasted till 16 December when Bangladesh got independence from Pakistan. After this East Pakistan was declared as a new nation named Bangladesh.
