Lala Lajpat Rai, a prominent freedom fighter popularly known as Punjab Kesari, was born on 28 January 1865 in Dudhia, Moga district of Punjab.

 Lala Lajpat Rai was not alone. He had a trick. Three prominent leaders were called Lal-Bal-Pal. He was one of the leaders of the Garam Dal in the Indian National Congress. In 1928, he took an active part in the demonstration against the Simon Commission. However, during this time, he suffered serious injuries in the police lathi charge. -Lala Lajpat Rai, popularly known as Punjab Kesari, was born on 28 January 1865 in Dudhia, Moga district of Punjab. Father was a teacher and Urdu writer by profession, due to which he also had a great interest in speech and writing. He started his law practice in Hisar and Lahore.


-Lala Lajpat Rai was called by giving the respectful address of Sher-e-Punjab. Their only aim was to bring self-rule through self-reliance.



- There was British rule, so denying too many ideas to do anything would take some action after that. Only Punjab Kesari could do this. In 1897 and 1899, Lala Lajpat Rai served the country with body, mind, and money to the victims of famine. During that time, the British rule did not help in the time of earthquake and famine, then Lala Lajpat Rai helped the people by joining hands with the lion agitators like Surendranath Banerjee and BipinchandraBipin Chandra Pal. And revolted fiercely against this decision of the British.


- The time returned when even the British were afraid of Lala Ji's popularity. Lala Lajpat Rai was not allowed to come to India from 1914-to 1920.


-By the time he came to India in 1920, his popularity had skyrocketed. In 1920, he met Gandhi at a special session of the Congress in Calcutta. After this, he also became a part of the non-cooperation movement. Under his leadership, there was a non-cooperation movement in Punjab. After which he came to be called the Lion of Punjab and Punjab Kesari. It is said that Lala Lajpat Rai made his supreme sacrifice in the Simon Commission.


- On October 30, 1928, a seven-member commission headed by the famous English lawyer Sir John Simon reached Lahore. All the members were Englishmen. There was strong opposition to this commission all over India. The Lahore metropolis was closed. The echo of 'Simon Commission Go Back, Inquilab Zindabad' was heard.
