26 January Republic Day: Why democracy is important, know 10 reasons

In the world between monarchy, theocracy, communism, company system, and dictatorship, democracy exists in India. Many people want religion to rule and many people want communists to rule. As in China or North Korea. But why is democracy necessary for a civilized and free society?

1. Governance established by the people:- Republic, democracy, or democracy all mean democracy of the people, for the people, and by the people. This means that the government established by the people protects the basic rights of the people. In this, the public decides how our leader will be.

2. Judiciary:- The strongest base of the republic is the judiciary. If people lose their trust in the court, then a new type of society starts being created which starts making its own decisions. This condition is not considered good. There should be justice for all without discrimination, this is the demand of democracy.

3. Freedom of Speech:- Freedom of speech means that we have got freedom of expression after a long struggle. Today in a democracy everyone is free to say anything or express their views but in another kind of system, it is not possible.

4. Personal Freedom:- Democracy gives us individual freedom to live life. We can choose the food, beverages, and clothing we want and we are free to move around wherever we want. There is no government restriction on us. If we want, we can change religion according to the rules or we can get married in any other religion. Democracy or republic is there because the individual is free. Personal freedom is very important. The state cannot decide how a person wants to live. He can live by being of any religion or can live happily by becoming an atheist. It is his freedom that he can live his life anywhere in the country. It is her choice how she should dress or not.

5. Governance:- It is necessary to have virtuous leaders and bureaucrats in the republic. To become a collector, engineer, or doctor, a person has to study a lot, spend and face competitive examinations, but to become a leader, one has to become a worker by doing social service, service to the country, and when a leader does not do all this work by doing juggling. Or if he sits in power due to saam, daam, punishment, then democracy starts feeling threatened by such an incompetent leader. They take this oath that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India, but are all these leaders capable of doing this? Our sages of ancient times had imagined a republic based on gunatantra, but in this republic of ours, even a thumb tech can put moong on our chest by becoming the prime minister. This situation is worse than any dictatorial system.

6. Be a part of democracy, not the mob system:- Laws are failing due to the mob system. People, politicians, police, and media have started doing arbitrariness. It's an era of fake news. Power is in the hands of politicians, journalists, lawyers, and honorable industrialists which they have learned to misuse in a good and civilized manner. He is not an outright dictator, but undeclared everything is. Everyone knows very well to change the direction of the wind together because everyone knows that they will understand what is explained to the crowd. The crowd doesn't even have a mind. Now a new type of crowd has come into existence which is called social media. Secular, nationalism, and communism are just words. Going up, everyone's thinking becomes medieval. The media has now started doing the work of police, judges, and lawyers too. A leader is ready to do anything for his benefit. Lakhs of rupees are spent in elections. Castes have started blackmailing. Everyone wants reservation, facility, money, loan, power, and position.

If democracy is to be strengthened then we must be free from the mob system and casteist politics and thinking. For this people have to understand that casteism is a big threat to our democracy. The leader of any caste, religion, organization, or society brings you on the road by hankering and turns your mind into a mob. Then a lot can be done by provoking him to the spirit of the crowd. This is how the power game operates, but it has never served the common man's interest.

7. Personality Development:- We are proud to be the largest democratic country in the world. Our democracy is slowly maturing. We are becoming smarter than ever. Slowly we are beginning to understand the importance of democracy. Only in a democratic system, a person can live freely. One can develop his personality and fulfill all his ambitions. Scientists are born in this system and big businessmen of the world are the product of this system.

8. Avoid dictatorship:- Those who think that there should be a dictatorship or strict religious rules in this country, do not know what happened in Pakistan and Afghanistan. What happened in Syria, Iraq. What happened in France, Germany, Soviet Union. One should also think about what is happening in China and North Korea. The people there have been yearning to live freely. These are just countries in the name.

9. Pluralist Society:- It is very necessary to have a republic in a country where people of different castes and religions live. If the republic does not exist, social inequality will lead to the development of a sense of anarchy and rebellion.

10. Why Democracy Required:- Only 56 countries including India, America, France, Germany, Brazil, Australia follow the democratic process. Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, China, Cuba, Eritrea, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Laos, North Korea, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Swaziland, Syria, Turkmenistan, UAE, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan have autocratic regimes. One out of every three citizens in the world is living under a communist dictatorship. More than half of these citizens are Chinese.
